Show #1: Wellington, New Zealand

Setlist
Blended Together, The Wave, Ticket

Review
A rough start for the band. The first two songs were not received well by the audience, but Ticket was a bit of a crowd pleaser. Possibly because people were excited that the band was finally going to get off the stage.

Show #2: Upper Hutt, New Zealand

Setlist
The First Show[1], Blended Together, The Wave, Ticket

[1]Debut

Review
The second show was a lot like the first, just with the minor addition of a new song for people to dislike. Band morale was low, and not just because they were playing in Upper Hutt.

Show #3: Nelson, New Zealand

Setlist
The Wave, The First Show, Ticket, Reload[1], Blended Together

[1]Debut

Review
This could have been a breakout show for Enthusiastic Panther if it weren’t for, well, every song except Ticket and Reload. The audience was left scratching their heads. “How could those two songs be so good when the rest of their set was absolute shite?”

Over time, Ticket and Reload emerge as two of the most popular songs of the entire band’s catalog. And the other ones? Bad news, they never stop being shite.

Show #5: Dunedin, New Zealand

Setlist
Reload, Blended Together, The First Show, Ticket, The Wave

Review
Dunedin taught the band an important lesson. Reload and Ticket are popular anywhere in the set, and … The Wave is just not a good song, and nothing can be done to save it.

The band was riding high on a great show and approaching an epic close when the bassist got a bit cocky. When he plucked out the first few notes for The Wave, the rest of the band groaned, but gamely soldiered on. They shouldn’t have.

It turns out a bad performance of a bad song doesn’t work very well as a closing song! Who knew?

Show #9: Tauranga, New Zealand

Setlist
Pixilxil[1], On the Low Rung, Waiting for Fred, Top, Blended Together, Blue Orange

[1] Debut

Review
The band stayed broken up for about three months. Just as the band was considering making some new songs, their tour manager said he had tracked down some shows in the United States and Canada and wanted to know if the band was interested.

The answer was unanimous: Yes! Of course! Before leaving on their grand adventure, they played one last night in their home country before traveling abroad. They all agreed they’d need to go out on a high note.

They did not. It was a bad show. The drummer pointed out that it was probably because they started the show with a new song (this time a cover of a Year Unknown track), and was told to stop whinging.

Show #12: San Francisco, USA

Setlist
The Wave, On the Low Rung, Blended Together, Lilliput, Duke’s Revenge, Blue Orange

Review
A truly awful show for the band. The Wave kicks things off, which gets a groan from a sizeable portion of the crowd. Then the show manages to get even worse. A subpar rendition of Blue Orange finishes out the set on a bit of a high note, not that most people even stuck around that long.

Show #16: Vancouver, Canada

Setlist
Blended Together, On the Low Rung, The Wave, Waiting for Fred, F-12, Four Turtles, The First Show, High School

Review
Call it stage fright, call it hubris, call it bad luck. This was a bad show.

The band attempted to put together a show without the help of any of The Big Three. Unsurprisingly the show was a disaster, tying for the second worst show of all time. The only highlight was High School, but even it was played below its expected average.
