Show #19: Edmonton, Canada

Setlist
Another Brick in the Wall[1], Midst, The First Show, Sure, High School, Patrick Swayze, Blue Orange, Reload, Little Bones

[1] Debut; Pink Floyd cover

Review
The band found a new gear in Canada. This show started with a cover of Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall. It was a bit of a miss, but Blue Orange blew everyone away with a 94/100 performance, and it was an overall solid show.

Show #23: Ottawa, Canada

Our 27th Song[1], Ticket, Blue Orange, Midst, Sure, Top, Little Bones, Patrick Swayze, Reload

[1] Debut

Review
A few notable things about this show. Our 27th Song debuted, then there was a red streak of three, and a blue streak of five. The Big Three made an appearance, and the show was good overall.

It also kicked off the first recording of the “SLF score” which stands for “Setlist Freshness.” This score describes how old or new the songs are. A score above 75% would mean the show is mostly new songs (as in Missoula) and a score below 25% would mean it’s mostly older songs. This show scored a 49, right in the middle. Song oldies, some new songs.

Show #24: Montreal, Canada

Setlist
F-12, Pixilxil, A9, Our 27th Song, Celsius, Patrick Swayze, The First Show, Top, Sure, Reload

Review
A notable show because only Reload made an appearance out of the entire Big Three. Celsius was a standout with a 71% score, its all time highest score. But wasn’t enough to save what ended up being a pretty mediocre show.

Show #25: Quebec City, Canada

Setlist
Blue Orange, A9, Celsius, Midst, High School, Our 27th Song, Four Turtles, Patrick Swayze, Ticket, The Wave

Review
No performance of Reload, but the other two songs that comprise The Big Three bookended the show. Blue Orange brought the house down with a 78/100, and the last song of the night broke records by hitting 100/100. It was the perfect performance.

But not content to leave on a high note, the band plunged into their most polarising song, The Wave. It scored a mere 29/100, stealing the chance for the band to leave on the highest possible note.

Also of note: the gap score for The Wave was 9, which is quite high for any song, let alone a song that has a whole fandom dedicated to it.

Show #26: Toronto, Canada

Setlist
Krambambuli[1], Reload, Top, Little Bones, Pixilxil, Sure, Needle, Lilliput, Blue Orange, Ticket

[1] Debut

Review
Krambambuli debuted as a nice lead-in song to Reload. The rest of The Big Three made an appearance, but the show couldn’t be saved. The band began wondering if they’re just never going to succeed in big cities. The fanthers noticed as well.

Setlist
Olivia’s Pots, Ku-Tut, Spiron Festival, Duke’s Journey, Raiya Sees, The Wax Post, The Turning Machine, Greypeak Range, Cranberry Crystals, Moonstrike’s Lament[1]

[1] An entire show of debuts

Review
There’s no way to explain it other than to say Enthusiastic Panther played a rock opera, based on a new fantasy story, with all new songs. It was reminiscent of their Missoula show, but this time with an entire story based on a fantasy world.

Absolutely amazing show. Hard to process. More to come.

Lore #3

Winning North America”
The North America tour was where Enthusiastic Panther proved to others (not to mention themselves!) that they had something special. Fanthers began to joke after Winnipeg that the band might yet “win North America” and by the time they ended their epic show in Halifax, the legend was already well on its way.

Jessica Shows
These refer to shows where Enthusiastic Panther play an entire show of new songs. This odd naming came about because of a fan named Jessica who attended the first one in Missoula, Montana and wrote a blog post about it that became an instant classic in the fan community. The band secretly invited her when they planned on doing the same thing in Halifax. She later wrote a second blog post about the experience. She had a lot of the original enthusiasm, but it wasn’t quite as special as the first time.

Halifax
The Halifax set wasn’t just legendary because of the all-new setlist. It also marked a left turn for the band because the songs were all based on a single fantasy world and sequenced linearly into a kind of rock opera. The fandom was immediately introduced to a range of new characters such as Olivia, Duke, Raiya, and Moonstrike.

Moonstrike
Moonstrike’s Lament was played for the finale in the Halifax show, and became an immediate fan favourite. Some fanart of Moonstrike managed to capture the imaginations of many Fanthers, and before the European tour even began, images of Moonstrike tattoos began springing up across the internet.

Show #28: Lisbon, Portugal

Setlist
Our 27th Song, The Wax Post, Moonstrike’s Lament, The Turning Machine, Patrick Swayze, Celsius, Reload, Blue Orange

Review
An absolutely stunner of a show. Other than a completely botched version of The Turning Machine, the show was almost exclusively blue songs. There was a good blend of older songs alongside Halifax Lore, plus a good blend of rare songs to go alongside the common ones. A fantastic show and a good sign for the rest of the European tour.

Show #29: Madrid, Spain

Setlist
Pixilxil, Raiya Sees, Krambambuli, Ticket, High School, Greypeak Range, Spiron Festival, Cranberry Crystals

Review
Portugal was a high point, but Madrid managed to be even better. Almost every song had its best version played at this show, and Ticket scored a 98.

Notably, only one of the big three was played and yet the score was still one of the all-time highest.
